Pertemps Scotland Ltd are working with our client in Edinburgh to recruit for a Payroll Supervisor on a 8 months basis.
The role is full time Monday to Friday and the rate of pay is £18.19ph
03/2021 possible extension
Disclosure and BPSS clearance required
The Supervisor will work alongside another supervisor to oversee this work.
They are looing for someone with Technical knowledge and expertise but also leadership and managerment skills that will lead the team through change.
You will be a confident and experienced PayrollÂ Supervisor with iTrent payroll experience and a good working knowledge of tax legislation and statutory requirements,
You will have responsibility with one other PayrollÂ Supervisor for the accurate and timely delivery of the monthly pay and regular expenses payments for over 1800 staff.
You will work closely with colleagues at all levels to provide comprehensive support and guidance to them.
You will be systems orientated, have excellent attention to detail and strong written and numeracy skills and have previous experience in creating/ manipulating management information reports.
Experience of working to strict deadlines, excellent time management skills and a focus on customer service, audit and compliance are also essential components of the role.
You will also assist with the delivery of the new System and identify and develop practical, strategic and customer focused solutions.
Process monthly payroll and complete all associated tasks within set deadlines, ensuring compliance with HMRC legislation.
Process twice monthly Travel & Subsistence (Expenses) payments, ensuring compliance with policy and legislation.
Manage year end procedures and complete necessary returns to HMRC by statutory deadlines e.g.
Pay Settlement Agreement, P11D/P11D(B) forms, etc.
Prepare and analyse management information reports, including finance and pension data, create new reports as required to support all internal and external reporting and audit requirements.
Support existing HR systems administration and the People System Review including testing of system upgrades, logging and managing support calls with system providers, investigating and resolving issues and defects.
Act as the first point of contact for more complex tax, payroll and expenses queries, ensure work procedures are kept up to date and liaise with relevant bodies to provide timely and accurate payroll guidance to staff and managers

Knowledge of iTrent HR and Payroll system
Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft packages; confident in using payroll and associated systems; experience of report writing and manipulation, for example, Cognos/ SAP Business Objects
Able to provide support and consistently accurate advice to customers in a manner that is easily understood
Thrives in a team working environment, openly sharing skills and knowledge whilst learning effectively from others
Supports and promotes change
Knowledge of tax legislation and statutory requirements, for example, PAYE deductions, Parental and Sickness Absence, Student Loans and Pensions
Your excellent technical and specialist knowledge gives you the ability to assess problems effectively and propose realistic and practical solutions.
Practical knowledge of payroll processes and how they link with policies, procedures and guidance.
Proven experience of end to end payroll processing
A track record in dealing effectively with payroll and expense queries in a customer focussed environment
Experienced in managing customer expectations and meeting deadlines
Change management and process improvement
Experience of payroll system testing
